Here's a video of how I found the fault with my ECU, to discover why my engine was not running, there's some information that may help any novice home mechanic. After replacing my air flow meter, distributor cap, rotor button, coil ignition lead, and discovering a good supply of fuel, I worked out it was most likely to be the ECU (Engine Control Unit).
